Toes North
Toes North is a collection of images from a long-weekend jaunt North portaging through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) at the border of Minnesota and Canada. The BWCA is America's most visited wilderness area - together with the Superior National Forest - representing 20% of all fresh water in the United States' Forest System. At the height of 2020’s COVID lockdown, these waters were a privileged escape and means for artistic collaboration among friends. In addition to the shared images below, a short-run, personal zine with a musical accompaniment was developed together with a gonzo-journalism inspired short story that documents the paddle.
